Working Group 1: Science Translation for Policy and Practice

Working Group (WG) 1 focuses on translating the scientific findings from the seven ExpoHealthNet projects into actionable insights for policymakers and public health stakeholders. Co-led by the MARKOPOLO and ENACT projects, this working group plays a central role in ensuring that cutting-edge environmental health research is effectively channelled into policy strategies to reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases across Europe.

WG1 objectives:

Policy Briefs: WG1 leads the preparation of joint policy briefs, which summarise the cluster’s main findings in a format accessible to decision-makers.

Policy Strategy of the Cluster: WG1 is responsible for drafting the overall strategy on how ExpoHealthNet will influence public policy during and beyond the project’s lifetime.

Collaboration with external stakeholders and alignment with EU health and environmental agendas

WG1 functions as a collaborative platform bringing together policy leads from all cluster projects. Regular meetings are organised to define the scope of each policy brief, consolidate findings and tailor messages to relevant audiences. All outputs are co-created with feedback from the cluster coordinators and EC representatives to ensure alignment with EU priorities.
